Obituary Notice Funeral services for Linda Parmer Brown, age 67 of Woodland will be held 1:00 PM Monday, November 19, 2012 from Bethel East Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Whaley, Rev. Brad Horton and Rev. Keith Runels officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 18th, from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour at the church prior to services. Pallbearers will be Allen McManus, Randy Jennings, Randy Spruill, Chuck Yarbrough, Roger Maddox and Jay Herren. Honorary pallbearers will be caretakers Melanie Maddox, Janice Eason, Marlene Henley, Sue Henderson, Valerie Beall, Lynn Eason, Maxene Eason, Louise Eason and Margaret Herren. Mrs. Brown died Saturday, November 17th at Tanner Medical Center. She is survived by her husband Charlie Brown of Woodland; one daughter Shondae Brown of Woodland; sister Margaret (John) Traylor of Graham; one brother Ridley Parmer of Woodland: two sister-in-laws Shirley (Doug) Vassy and Betty (Don) McKenzie both of Carrollton, Ga; one brother-in-law Earl Spradlin of Woodland; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brown was born September 14, 1945, the daughter of Hoyt and Vernice Prescott Parmer. She was retired from Lamar Mfg. Co. as a payroll clerk and a member of Bethel East Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Sara McManus and Losette Spradlin. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
