Obituary Notice Funeral services for Lottie Crews Cofield, age 92, of Newell, will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 8, 2013, from Union Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Wysner, Rev. Ed Halsey and Hilda Story officiating. Mrs. Cofield will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, on Monday, January 7th. Pallbearers will be Phillip Edwards, Greg Edwards, Mike Cofield, Jason Simpson, Cliff Langley, Curt Stinespring, Steve Spratlin. Mrs. Cofield died Sunday, January 6, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Cofield is survived by three daughters, Catherine and husband Richard Craft of Newell, Stella and husband Billy Edwards of Newell, Carrie and husband Jack Simpson of Newell; one son, Bobby and wife Elaine Cofield of Newell; three sister-in-laws, Blanche Crews, Dean Lovvorn, Mary Nell Cofield; one brother-in-law, Eddie Cofield; caregivers, Lynn Smith, Velma Orr; seven grandchildren, Tammy and husband Steve Spratlin, Phillip and wife Julia Edwards, Mike and wife Dawn Cofield, Greg and wife Sandee Edwards, Teena and husband Curt Stinespring, Jason and wife Kim Simpson, Jackie and husband Cliff Langley; thirteen great grandchildren, Bobby Ray and Michael Cofield, Morgan, Macie, Maggie and Logan Edwards, Chelsea Spratlin, Leah Stinespring, Jaycie, Kenslie, Callie Beth Simpson, Jaxton and Carrianna Langley. Mrs. Cofield was born January 28, 1920, the daughter of Smiley Barto and Mamie Reaves Crews. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mrs. Cofield was a member of Union Baptist Church and had been a seamstress for Breman and Bowden Investment Company. She loved flowers, working in the yard, baking cookies for all to enjoy and playing dominoes in her later years. Mrs. Cofield is preceded in death by her husband, Ted Cofield; her parents; eight sisters; four brothers; two grand-daughters; one great-grandson.
