Funeral services for Wilburn Jack Chandler age 79 of Wedowee will be held Monday February 4, 2013 at 11 AM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Cade Farris officiating. Graveside services will be held at Carroll Memory Gardens in Carrollton, Georgia at 1:00 PM ( Central time).
Mr. Chandler passed away Friday February 1, 2013 at Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Chandler is survived by his wife Mary Lynn Clark Chandler of Wedowee: two daughters Judy (Winton) Akers and Shirley (Jerry) Hansen all of Carrollton, Ga: two sons Steve Chandler of Carrollton, Ga. and Phil Chandler of Cedartown, Ga: one brother-in-law Wendell Hughes of Woodstock, Ga; Nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Mr. Chandler was born in Tallapoosa County on January 1, 1934 the son of Wilbur Ellis and Annie Esprence Ledford Chandler. He was retired from Inland Container and attended First Baptist Church of Wedowee. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Lena Hughes and Annie Clayton.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home- Wedowee on Sunday February 3, 2013 from 1 till 3 PM.
