Obituary Notice Funeral services for Dessie Mae Puckett age 95 of Roanoke will be held Monday February 4, 2013 at 1:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ricky Emery and Rev. Billy Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Puckett passed away Saturday February 2, 2013 at George H. Lanier Nursing Home in Valley. Mrs. Puckett is survived by four daughters Dorothy Abbott of Camden, Tn., Betty Cotton of Ohatchee, Jeanette Jenkins of Atlanta, Ga. and Susie Mitchell of Lanett: three sons Leon Puckett of Hilyard, Fl., Billy Puckett of Roanoke and Jerry Puckett of Montgomery: one sister Reba McCormick of Heflin: eighteen grandchildren and a host of great and great great- grandchildren Pallbearers will be Jacob Ussery, Jared Ussery, Blake Cotton, Dalton Cotton, Nathan Bentley and Kory Puckett. Honorary pallbearer will be Jason Ussery. Mrs. Puckett was born August 10, 1917 the daughter of John and Rose Jordan McCormick. She was a homemaker and a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Curtis Puckett two sons Willis Puckett and Charles Puckett, three sisters and five brothers. The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home- Wedowee on Sunday February 3, 2013 from 6 till 8 PM. Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of the arrangements.
