Obituary of Dorothy Brown Mitchell

Obituary Notice Funeral services for Dorothy Brown Mitchell, age 72, of Woodland, will be 2:00 PM Saturday, March 2, 2013, from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Carl Phillips and Rev. Donald Spradlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty East Baptist Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 1, 2013. Pallbearers will be Jeffery Craven, Kenneth Craven, Junior Brown, Gary Dalrymple, Barry Yates, and Lonsie Pike. Mrs. Mitchell died Thursday, February 28, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by three daughters, Sharon Tanner of Woodland, Tammy East of Lineville, Joan Dixson of Woodland; one son, Johnny Mitchell of Woodland; two sisters, Sarah White of Franklin, GA, Annie Ruth Dalrymple Woodland; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren. Mrs. Mitchell was born February, 15, 1941, the daughter of Robert and Etta Overton Brown. She was a member of Liberty East Baptist Church and had worked in housekeeping for Traylor Retirement Community. Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her spouse, Lonsie (Handley) Mitchell, Jr.; her parents, two brothers; one sister; one grandchild.
