Obituary Notice
Funeral services for Rev. J. D. Bearden, 83, of Heflin, will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 23, 2013, from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Billy Puckett, Rev. Donald Spradlin, and Rev. Jody Overton officiating. Burial to follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, Anniston, with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 pm, Friday, March 22, 2013, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Rev. Bearden died Thursday, March 20, 2013 at his home.
Rev. Bearden is survived by eight daughters, Mayrene Lipham of Wedowee, Wanda Gail Bain of Heflin, Betty Jo Young of Heflin, Iva Nell Willard of Jacksonville, Anita Kay Price of Anniston, Judy Ann Gay of Atlanta, GA, Janet Sue Ragan of Painter, Jennifer Beth Simpson of Heflin; five sons, Timothy Glenn Bearden of Anniston, Michael Lynn Bearden of Heflin, Earnest Lee Bearden of Heflin, Anthony Bearden of Roanoke, Roland Darryl Bearden of Delta; two sisters, Leola Lumpkin of Anniston, Isabell Mize of Anniston; one brother, K. C. Bearden of Anniston; twenty-nine grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
Rev. Bearden was born, January 6, 1930, the son of James Iverson and Bessie Mae Key Bearden. He was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church and had been a Supervisor for Southwire. Rev. Bearden was preceded in death by his wife, Fayrene Bright Bearden; his parents, one grand-daughter, Cassie Brown; one great grand-child, Roseanna Price.
