Obituary Notice Funeral services for Alvis Wayne Dubose age 76 of Wedowee will be held Monday August 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Dyess and John Hoggle officiating. Burial will follow in the Wedowee City Cemetery. Mr. Dubose passed away Saturday August 17, 2013 at Piedmont Healthcare Center. Mr. Dubose is survived by his wife Ruby Dubose of Wedowee; two daughters Sherry (Wayne) Mozley of Fairhope and DeDe (Greg) White of Anniston; Three grandchildren Morgan (Chad) Koon, Mallory Mozley and Leanne White. One great-grandchild Sophia Koon. One sister and two brothers. Pallbearers will be Greg White, Wayne Mozley, Chad Koon, Ralph White, Terry Graham and Carl Battles. Mr. Dubose was born July 5, 1937 in Dallas County Alabama to Robert and Janet Elam Dubose. He was retired from the Cobb County Georgia Board of Education, after 33 years. He was boys basketball coach for 21 years at South Cobb High School. The rest of his career was spent as the Physical Education teacher at the elementary school level in Cobb County Georgia. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Wedowee. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home- Wedowee on Monday August 19, 2013 from 10 till 11 AM. Flowers will be accepted or the family request donations to The Lighthouse Ministry at First United Methodist Church of Wedowee Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of the arrangements.
