Obituary of Gladys Faye Wilson

Funeral services for Gladys Faye Wilson, age 83, of Woodland will be held Monday, September 1, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. from Liberty Grove Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Norred and Rev. Bobby Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Grove Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013. Mrs. Wilson will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Monday. Mrs. Wilson died Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at her residence. Survivors include her husband, Huel Wilson of Woodland; one daughter, Linda Armstrong of Woodland; one son, Larry Kile of Melbourne, FL; seven grandchildren, Michael Licon, Austin Wilson, Justin Wilson, Lori Green, Bryan Kile, Patrick Kile, and Christina Roome; four great-grandchildren, Samantha Taylor, Autumn Taylor, Alex Kile, and Lily Kile; two sisters, Bobbie Kile of Jonesboro, TX, and Shirley Cox of Shreveport, LA. Pallbearers will be Ricky Rampy, Michael Rampy, John Holmes, Frank Wilson, Mark Kirby, and Wendell Parmer. A Louisiana native, Mrs. Wilson was born on February 22, 1930, the daughter of Robert E. and Gertrude Davis Polke. She was a member of Liberty Grove Congregational Methodist Church and retired as an LPN from Randolph Medical Center. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robert Wayne Wilson; and one brother, Ray Polke. The family will be accepting flowers or donations may be made to the Liberty Grove Cemetery Fund.
