Obituary of Melba Hall

Funeral services for Melba Elaine Hall, age 50, of Valley will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 12:00 p.m. from the Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bobby Elliot officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013. Ms. Hall died Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA. Survivors include: three sisters, Rena Fay Whaley of Valley, AL, Janet Comb of Franklin, LA, and Linda Sue Baxter of Franklin, GA; and five brothers, Birsey D. Brooks, Jr., of Pell City, AL, Ralph Jerome Brooks of Wedowee, AL, John Brooks of Valley, AL, Tony Brooks of Franklin, LA, and Doyle Brooks of Valley, AL. A Franklin, Georgia native, Ms. Hall was born on April 1, 1963, the daughter of Birsey D. Brooks, Sr., and Nellie Faye McCulley Brooks. She was Baptist by faith and had worked in maintenance at Georgia Power Company. Ms. Hall was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gregory Brooks.
