Obituary Notice
Funeral services for Doris Sikes Nix age 96 of Wedowee will be held Sunday November 17, 2013 at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Terry Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the Wedowee City Cemetery.
Mrs. Nix passed away Friday November 15, 2013 at Lineville Health and Rehab.
Mrs. Nix is survived by her husband Joseph H. Nix of Wedowee; one son Jerry (wife Anne Marie) Nix of Wedowee; two grandchildren Lewis J. (wife Karah) Nix and Andrew S. Nix; two great-grandchildren Ashton and Addison Nix.
Pallbearers will be Ashton Nix, Addison Nix, Roy Francis Almon, John Todd New, Mel Stewart and Ted Darby.
Mrs. Nix was a Randolph County native, born June 20, 1917 the daughter of Larkin M. and Maude Strain Sikes. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wedowee. She loved children. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Gail Nix Thomas, one sister Eunice Wilder and two brothers Willie Jack and Alton Brewer Sikes.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home on Sunday November 17, 2013 from 1 till 2 PM.
The family will accept flowers or request donations to First United Methodist Church in Wedowee.
