Funeral services for Willie B. Moon, age 80, of Wedowee will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at 1:00 PM from Rocky Branch Baptist Church with Bro. Clayton Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00-1:00 PM on Thursday, November 21, 2013.
Mr. Moon passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at his residence.
Survivors include; his wife, Lois Mae Moon of Roanoke; two daughters, Charissa (husband, George) Smith of Woodland and Chris (husband, Ronnie) Wrye of Longwood, FL; one son, Keenan (wife, Susie) Moon of Woodland; one brother, Dewayne (wife, Jean) Moon of LaGrange, GA; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A Wedowee native, Mr. Moon was born on February 25, 1933, the son of Leon Deese and Clois Holloway Moon. He was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church and was a bus driver for the Randolph County Board of Education. Mr. Moon was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Tony D. Moon; and one daughter-in-law, Hazel Moon.
The family is accepting flowers, or donations may be made to your favorite charity.
