Obituary of Wanda Gail Shelnutt Higgins

Wanda G. Shelnutt Higgins, age 63, of Roanoke passed away December 20, 2013, at Wedowee Hospital.
Survivors include: one daughter, Katherine Higgins of Roanoke; two sons, Daniel Higgins of Baton Rouge, LA, and Zack Higgins of Roanoke; two sisters, Faye Leonard of Woodland and Ann McCord of Woodland; four brothers, Blake Shelnutt of Hogansville, GA, Brack Shelnutt of Heflin, Brooks Shelnutt, of Franklin, GA, and Paul Shelnutt of Woodland; and five grandchildren.
A Randolph County native, Ms. Higgins was born on March 8, 1950, the daughter of John Dorsey and Grace Richardson Shelnutt. She was an assembler at Candlewick Yarns and Church of Christ by faith. Ms. Higgins was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Buck, Dean and infant brother; one sister, Lila Whitaker; and one infant sister.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
