Funeral services for Huel Wayne Wilson, age 75, of Woodland will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2014, at 2:00 PM from Liberty Grove Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Norred, Rev. Bobby Jones, and Blake Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.



The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2014. Mr. Wilson will lie in state at the church for one hour beginning at 1:00 PM on Sunday, January 12, 2013.



Mr. Wilson passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA.



Survivors include: one daughter, Linda Armstrong of Woodland; one son, Larry Kile of Melbourne, FL; six grandchildren, Austin Wilson, Justin Wilson, Lori Green, Bryan Kile, Patrick Kile, and Christina Roome; three sisters, Geraldine Rampy and Sue Nell Rampy, both of Woodland, and Vira Kirby of Bowden, GA; and four great-grandchildren.



Pallbearers will be Ricky Rampy, John Holmes, Doug Wilson, Frankie Wilson, Wendell Parmer, and Jamie Dukus. Honorary pallbearers will be Wallace Lee and Brian Green.



A Randolph County native, Mr. Wilson was born on December 3, 1938, the son of Robert Douglas and Lonetta Mashburn Wilson. He was a Veteran of the Air Force where he served in the Vietnam War, a member of Liberty Grove Congregational Methodist Church, and he was a retired truck driver from Ampex. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gladys Polk Wilson; son, Robert Wayne Wilson; two sisters, Josephine Roan and Betty Holmes; and two brothers, Reed Wilson and Burvin Wilson.



The family is accepting flowers, or in lieu of flowers, requests donations be made to the Liberty Grove Cemetery Fund.
