Obituary of TIm Cook

Funeral services for Tim R. Cook, age 58, of Wedowee will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2014, at 2:00 PM from Woodland First Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. David McPhearson and Rev. Derek Farr officiating. Burial will follow at Midway United Methodist Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, February 08, 2014. Mr. Cook will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning at 1:00 PM on Sunday. Mr. Cook passed away Friday, February 7, 2014, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia. Survivors include his wife, Martha Cook of Wedowee; one daughter, Leslie (Alex) Cook of Wedowee; one son, Rocky (Tracie) Cook of Wedowee; three grandchildren; one sister, Joan Young of Roanoke; one brother, Danny Cook of Wadley; father-in-law, Mert Pate; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Robert Garrett, Ted Brown, Chris Phillips, Kevin Hull, Larry Hull, W.C. Pate, Kirby Bassett, and Justin Arnett. A Randolph County native, Mr. Cook was born on November 4, 1955, the son of Jesse C. and Sara J. Chase Cook. He was a member of Woodland First Congregational Methodist Church and had been a logger-loader operator for Hull's Logging Company. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dusty Cook; and one brother, Benny Cook.
