Obituary Notice Funeral services for Edith Maureen Williamson Kirby age 93 of Jacksonville will be held Saturday February 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Johnson, Rev. Wayne Cowhick and Rev. Ryan Conger officiating. Burial Will follow in the Rock Stand Congregational Christian Church Cemetery. Mrs. Kirby passed away Wednesday February 12, 2014 at Jacksonville Hospital. The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home- Wedowee from 11:00 AM till 2:00 PM on Saturday February 15, 2014. Mrs. Kirby is survived by two daughters Cheryl ( husband Rev, Truman) Norred of Jacksonville and Teresa (husband Richard) Cobb of Pinson; one son Gordon (wife Rachel) Kirby of Piedmont; three brothers Zenus Williamson of Wedowee, Shellie Oren Williamson of Peoria, Illnois and Preston Williamson of Atlanta, Ga; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a special caregiver Claudine McCrig. Mrs. Kirby was born in Randolph County on July 26, 1920 the daughter of Albert and Mamie Craven Williamson. She was retired from Clegg Manufacturing Company and a member of Rock Stand Congregational Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents husband Junior Kirby, a son Captain Rance Kirby, a granddaughter Terry Kirby, two sisters Bernice Cummings and Lenora Howell and a brother Kenneth Williamson. The family will accept flowers but prefer donations to Rock Stand Congregational Christian Church 7101 County Road 65 Roanoke Alabama 36274.
