Obituary of Glynda Strickland Chisolm

Funeral services for Glynda Strickland Chisolm, age 66, of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 11:00 AM CST from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Cade Farris and Bro. Bobby Malone officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at 2:00 PM CST from Friendship Baptist Cemetery at the intersection of Tyree Road and Highway 166 in Winston, Georgia 30187. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-10:00 PM CST on Thursday, April 24 and Friday, April 25, 2014. Mrs. Chisolm passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at her residence. Survivors include: one daughter, Crystal (husband, Ray) Lovins Cole of Wedowee; one son, Jeffrey (wife, Karen) Lee Lovins of Gulf Shores; grandchildren, Kayla (husband, Quincy) Potter, Tiffany (husband, Mac) Nunn, Kaitlyn (husband, Michael) Townsend; Chasity Lovins, Karlee Johnston, Jessica Lovins, and John Cole; one great-grandchild, BraeLeigh Nunn; one sister, (Auntie) Ellie Edgar of Wedowee; and one nephew, Mike (wife, Karin) Butler. Pallbearers will be Bobby Malone, Steven Stansell, Jacob Stansell, Trevor Stansell, Josh Kirby, and Shane Kirby. A Villa Rica native, Mrs. Chisolm was born on March 7, 1948, the daughter of Oscar J. and Edna Mae Henry Strickland. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Wedowee and was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. Mrs. Chisolm was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Dick Lovins and Jerry Chisolm; and one nephew, Phil Butler.
