Visitation for Martha J. Smith, age 79, of Woodland will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee.
Mrs. Smith passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at her residence.
Survivors include: two daughters, Juanita Lynn Olds of Eclectic and Katrina Darlene Bailey of Woodland; four sons, Billy Dan Smith of Evergreen, Johnny Q. Smith of Talladega, Phillip K. Smith of Lineville, and Michael T. Smith of Houston, TX; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dot Penn of Valley, Betty Wallace of Fairburn, GA, and Brenda Clifton of Georgia; and one brother, Marvin Clifton, Jr., of Valley.
A Selma native, Mrs. Smith was born on February 13, 1935, the daughter of Marvin and Odessa Daniel Clifton. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Thomas Smith; infant daughter, Tonya LaDawn Smith; two sisters, Ann Avery and Rita Lassiter; and one brother, Danny Clifton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Randolph County Animal Shelter.
