Funeral services for Dewey Lyman Teague, age 88, of Heflin will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at 11:00 AM from Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Dempsey and Rev. John Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Mr. Teague passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014, at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Teague; two daughters, Sarilyn Murphy of Wedowee and Marilyn Williams of Heflin; one son, Dan (wife, Susan) Driscoll of Wedowee; one grandchild, Mindy Fleming; three great-grandchildren, Riley, Dalton, and Reanna Burke; and two sisters, Patty Akins of Heflin and Betty Eastwood of Wadley. Pallbearers will be James Fleming, Dalton Burke, Riley Burke, David Hallmark, Kermit White, Ricky Forman, and Timothy Akins. A Randolph County native, Mr. Teague was born on September 8, 1925, the son of Eli Benton and Clara Daugherty Teague. He was a member of Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church, a World War II Marine Corps Veteran, and had worked at Southwire in Carrollton. Mr. Teague was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
