Funeral services for Nancy Gross Cummings, age 88, of Bowdon, Georgia, will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014, at 2:00 PM CST from Benefield Funeral Chapel Wedowee with Bro. Wayne Brown and Bro. Anthony Puckett officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Branch Baptist Cemetery in Woodland, Alabama.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM CST on Thursday, June 26, 2014.

Mrs. Cummings passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at her home.

Survivors include: two sons, Robert (wife, Brenda) Taylor of Bowdon, GA, and Ricky (wife, Barbara) Taylor of Wedowee, AL; one stepdaughter, Geraldine Hammett of Wedowee, AL; two granddaughters, Christy Jacobs and LeAnn Tidmore; five step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Sollye Sikes of Oxford, AL; three brothers, Jack Gross and Bob Gross, both of Wedowee, AL, and Sam Gross of Bowdon, GA; and six nieces and three nephews.

Pallbearers will be Terry Sikes, Dennis Sparks, Ray Gostin, Tate Gostin, James Ray Gostin, and Ricky Shefield.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Cummings was born on February 23, 1926, the daughter of Ellison and Essie Kirby Gross. She was a member of Victory Road Baptist Church and was an LPN at Tanner Medical Center. Mrs. Cummings was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, C.B. Cummings; and two brothers, Joe and Blake Gross.
