Funeral services for James Earl Benefield, age 53, of Wedowee will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014, at 9:00 AM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roger Hammett officiating. Burial will follow at Levens Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, June 29, 2014.

Mr. Benefield passed away Friday, June 27, 2014, in Huntsville, Alabama.

Survivors include: one daughter, Jennifer Hope Benefield of Dalton, GA; his mother, Marcille Benefield of Wedowee; one sister, Ann Lipham of Wedowee; and one brother, Robert Benefield of Wedowee.

A Wedowee native, Mr. Benefield was born on December 9, 1960, the son of Earl Benefield, Jr., and Sarah Marcille White Benefield. He was a self-employed carpenter. Mr. Benefield was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Benefield.
