Obituary of Wallace Keith Mitchell

Funeral services for Wallace Keith Mitchell, age 55, of Wedowee will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Waldrop and Rev. Mike Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery in Chambers County, Alabama. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2014. Mr. Mitchell passed away Monday, June 30, 2014, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Survivors include: two daughters, Sarah Patterson of Anniston and Megan Little of Roanoke; two sons, Keith Mitchell of Roanoke and Brian Mitchell of Wedowee; ten grandchildren; and four brothers, Basil Mitchell, Kenneth Mitchell, David Mitchell, and Mike Mitchell, all of Wedowee. Pallbearers will be Heath Puckett, Joseph Mitchell, James Patterson, Richard Williamson, Steven Snow, Jason Vowell, Joe Patterson, and Frankie Henry. A Wedowee native, Mr. Mitchell was born on November 27, 1958, the son of Edsel and Florence Pool Mitchell. He was a self-employed carpenter and Baptist by faith. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Anna Marie Mitchell.
