Obituary of Arnold Odell Bailey

Funeral services for Arnold Odell Bailey, age 79, of Woodland will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at 2:00 PM from Flat Rock Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmy Keel officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, July 7, 2014. Mr. Bailey passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Hospice LaGrange in LaGrange, Georgia. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Irene Bailey of Woodland; two sons, Ricky Bailey and Greg Bailey, both of Woodland; one granddaughter, Adrianna Bailey; and several nieces and nephews. A Woodland native, Mr. Bailey was born on July 23, 1934, the son of T.J. and Ruby South Bailey. He was a member of Flat Rock Methodist Church where he served as a Deacon for 40 plus years, retired from General Motors as a body finisher, and was a member of Heaton Lodge # 354 F&AM in Graham. Mr. Bailey was a farmer and loved spending time with his granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and six sisters.
