Funeral services for Roger Dale Ledford, age 60, of Wedowee, will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014, at 6:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerry Irwin and Rev. Don Maddox officiating with visitation from 5:00-6:00 PM. There will also be a chapel service at Ivie Funeral Home in Hayesville, North Carolina, at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, with visitation from 11:00 AM-12:30 PM. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery in Hayesville, N.C., with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee and Ivie Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Ledford passed away at Wedowee Hospital in Wedowee, Alabama, on Sunday, July 13, 2014. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Ledford of Wedowee; one niece, Vicki (husband, Eric) Letbetter and their children of Atlanta, GA; two nephews, Casey (wife, Teresa) Ledford and their daughter of California and Kevin Ledford of Douglasville, GA; and one sister-in-law, Judy Ledford of Wedowee. Pallbearers will be Kevin Ledford, David Ledford, Michael Ledford, Charles Lands, Tim Bearden, and Stephen Bearden. A Hayesville, North Carolina native, Mr. Ledford was born on March 8, 1954, the son of Gline and Maggie Wood Ledford. He lived in Wedowee 15 years and was co-owner of Fiberglass Unlimited, Inc. in Roanoke, Alabama, with 35 years in the steeple business. Mr. Ledford attended Harvest Church of God in Anniston, Alabama. Roger loved God, his family, music, his dogs, old cars, and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Glenda Cotton; and one brother, Tommy Ledford.
