Obituary of Kermit Patterson

Funeral services for Kermit E. Patterson, age 71, of Woodland will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at 12:00 PM from Prospect Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Terrell officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel East Baptist Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at Prospect Congregational Methodist Church from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM on Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Mr. Patterson passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia. Survivors include: one stepdaughter, Dena (husband, Allen) Tate of Woodland; one brother, Max Patterson of Ranburne; and one cousin, Gordon Harrington of Woodland. Pallbearers will be Cecil Bailey, Bob Steinard, Tim Harrington, William Gray, and Murl Williams. A Woodland native, Mr. Patterson was born on August 15, 1942, the son of Earnest and Esther Parmer Patterson. He attended Prospect Congregational Methodist Church, was a Deacon at Bethel East Baptist Church, and was a retired forklift operator at Southwire. Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Polly Patterson; and his sweetheart, Bonnie Clifton.
