Obituary of Loree Holloway

Funeral services for Loree "Cadillac" Holloway, age 92, of Wedowee will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at 11:00 AM from Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Corky Addison and Rev. Donald Spradlin officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 2, 2014. Mr. Holloway passed away Monday, September 1, 2014, in Wedowee, Alabama. Survivors include: two daughters, Diane Rice (husband, Jerry) and Glenda Laney (husband, Donnie), both of Wedowee; five grandchildren, Delana Gilliland (Mike), Shane Laney (Heather), Rhonda Hall (Jim), Chuck Rice, Misti Gray (Jamey); and ten great-grandchildren, Cody, Cory, Tyler, and Cailin Laney, C.J. Wiggins, Andrew and Kayla Hall, Katie and Luke Rice, and Blake Gray. Pallbearers will be Andrew Hall, Mike Gilliland, Jim Hall, Jamey Gray, Ken Spradlin, and Chuck Rice. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Laney, Cody Laney, Cory Laney, Tyler Laney, C.J. Wiggins, and Luke Rice. A Wedowee native, Mr. Holloway was born on August 12, 1922, in Randolph County. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and worked in the timber business for White's Logging. Mr. Holloway was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Etta Holloway and his wife, Lila Hurley Holloway.
