Funeral services for Cludie Bowen, age 93, of Woodland, will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Brian Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Bowen Family Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-8:00 PM on Friday, September 26, 2014.
Mrs. Bowen passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014, at her residence.
Survivors include two daughters, Eddie Mae Colley and Mary Ellen Owen both of Woodland; four sons, David Bowen of Wedowee, JT Bowen of Woodland, Earnest Bowen of Heflin, and Ralph Bowen of Woodland; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Shannon Bowen, Sam Bowen, Wesley Bowen, Daniel Bowen, Michael Bowen, Jason Gorman, and Mark Bowen.
Mrs. Bowen was born on June 20, 1921, the daughter of Law Jeff and Mary Jane Barsher McDaniel. She was a member of Jordan Chapel Methodist Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Bowen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Odell Bowen; son, Marvin Bowen; three sisters and four brothers.
