Funeral services for Virginia O. McCain, age 93, will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at 12:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roger Woodard and Rev. David Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens in Anniston.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM on Wednesday, December 31.
Mrs. McCain passed away Monday, December 29, 2014, at Cambridge Place in Opelika, Alabama.
Survivors include: two daughters, Jean Hooks and Wanda Williamson, both of Woodland; two sons, Jimmy McCain and Ricky McCain, both of Woodland; and one sister, Thelma Husky of Greenville, SC.
Pallbearers will be Landon Cross, Colton McCain, Kendle Bayliss, Joby Burns, Brian Cross, and Shane Cross.
A longtime Randolph County resident, Mrs. McCain was born in Greenville, SC, on January 13, 1921, the daughter of James Newton and Maggie Perkins Owen. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church and was a bookkeeper for the Anniston Army Depot. Mrs. McCain was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Edward T. Cobb and Fred H. McCain; and nine brothers and sisters.
