Obituary of Edward Crawford Cofield

Funeral services for Eddie Cofield, age 80, of Newell will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at 11:00 AM from Union Baptist Church with Rev. David Phillips, Kenny Buchannan, and Don Knowles officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30-8:00 PM on Friday, January 23, 2015. Mr. Cofield passed away Monday, January 19, 2015, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. Survivors include: one daughter, Kim Mack of Smyrna, GA; one son, Ferrell Cofield of Newell; four grandchildren; and one sister, Imodean Lovvorn of Newell. Pallbearers will be family and friends. A Randolph County native, Mr. Cofield was born on March 13, 1934, the son of Millard Franklin and Ina Lee Stewart Cofield. He was a member of Union Baptist Church and a retired machinist at Anniston Army Depot. Mr. Cofield was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby Messer Cofield; two sons, Randell Cofield and Phillip Cofield; and six brothers.
