Obituary of Bro. Harry L. Cobb

Funeral services for Brother Harry Cobb, age 84, of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 on Friday, February 6, 2015. Brother Cobb passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015, at Trinity Medical Center in Birmingham. Survivors include: two daughters, Debra Elesa Cobb McElroy and Denia Cobb Petruzella of Birmingham; one son, Paul Cobb of Talladega; seven grandchildren, Marsha Dixon, Laura Van Buren, Beanna Bulger, Justin Cobb, Danielle Collar, Michael Petruzella, and Anthony Petruzella; and one brother, Kenneth Cobb of Birmingham. A Birmingham native, Brother Cobb was born on June 13, 1930, the son of Harry Lee Cobb, Sr., and Laura Lloyd Cobb Wood. He became a Christian and began preaching at age 17. Brother Cobb moved to Wedowee 35 years ago and began his full-time Evangelistic work. This ministry carried him throughout the United States as well as to many countries around the world where he shared the Gospel, aided in the establishment of new congregations, and served the people within the communities where he preached. Brother Cobb was preceded in death by his parents.
