Obituary of Annie K. White

Funeral services for Annie K. White, age 77, of Wedowee will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at 2:00 PM, from Union Hill Congregational Methodist church with Rev. David Holcomb, Rev. Jimmy Howthorne, and Rev. David Waldrop officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Monday, February 23, 2015. Mrs. White will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Tuesday. Mrs. White passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015, at her residence. Survivors include: two daughters, Vivian Hadley (husband, Max) of Woodland and Beverly McCain (husband, Jeremy) of Wedowee; one son, Wendell White (wife, Tabatha) of Wedowee; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Geneva Sutton of Lineville; Evelyn Synder of Childersburg, AL, Glenda Milstead of Ashland, and Sandra Williams of Lincoln; and one brother, Lawrence Key of Alexandria. Pallbearers will be Jim Key, Robert Sutton, Carlos Hardin, Roger Key, Chuck Milstead, and Kyle Simmons. Honorary pallbearers will be Melinda Hardin, Juanita Hill, Marsha Hill, Megan Owen, Courtney Hill, Sommer Johnson, Jessica Andrews, Janice Foster, Kim Turner, Betty Pool, Randall Key, and Clay County Hospice. A Wedowee native, Mrs. White was born on July 22, 1937, the daughter of Shellie Monroe and Lola Ida Craven Key. She was a member of Union Hill Congregational Methodist Church and worked as a seamstress for Higgins Slacks.
