I am so sorry that I was out of town attending the wedding of my brother's youngest daughter in Alexander City, Al. when Junior died unexpectedly. I knew that he had several close calls with death, and a good deal of pain at times.
J.R.was a unique person with some funny statement to make in most situations or about subjects that came up around the table at Jack's Restaurant or any time a group was gathered to drink coffee or eat.
I did not know him well except in those situations. I am sure as with all of us Junior J.R. had some amount of tragedy and very sad times in his life, along with some happy times. He stated that more than once.
Being a pretty good judge of people and character, I could tell that he was a person who underneath it all, was a very smart and kind person with the ability to care for people of all types, and used his humor to cheer up even people who insisted in talking about unpleasant things.
I will miss J.R. Traylor in a way that would be hard to explain to a person from the northern parts of the USA. I do know that he made me want to see him again and again, and hear the next story that was probably built on some amount of fact, but also came from a keen wit, and ability to spin a yarn as he went down that road telling a tale that caused a laugh from most people. Some of us, including me will not be deeply missed but J.R. will be missed by all who knew him. I am truly saddened by this loss.

So sorry to learn of Jr.'s passing... He was a good person and we liked him... I know of only one thing to tell the family at this time and that is, just know that he is shouting on the hills of Gloryland now.To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord'' I have leaned on this verse so much and pray that it will comfort all of the family... He was a well liked person and we will miss seeing him at Jack's like we used to. May God give you all strength to endure during this time. Praying for you all.
