Funeral services for John Robert “Bobby” Stillwell, age 79, of Newell will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Union Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Dempsey officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM on Saturday, September 5, 2015. Mr. Stillwell will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning.

Mr. Stillwell passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Wedowee Hospital.

Survivors include: one sister, Mary Joyce Strickland of Newell and one brother, Donald M. Stillwell of Newell.

Pallbearers will be member s of Morrison Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Stillwell was born on June 18, 1936, the son of John J. and Ruby L. Hallmark Stillwell. He was Baptist by faith and worked as a carpenter. Mr. Stillwell was preceded in death by his parents.
