Funeral services for Richard Lee “Pete” Bradford, age 73, of Wedowee will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Ricky Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in Barfield Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. Mr. Bradford passed away Monday, September 7, 2015, at Lineville Health & Rehab. Survivors include: one daughter, Leisa Benefield (husband, David) of Wedowee; one son, Tommy Bradford (wife, Tina) of Newell; six grandchildren, Ashlie Lee (husband, Chad), Drew Benefield (wife, Olivia), Brad Benefield, Tyler Bradford, Trey Bradford, and Tate Bradford; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Geanell Knight of Hartselle, AL; and one brother, Bill Bradford of Meridian, MS. Pallbearers will be Mr. Bradford’s grandsons. A Clay County native, Mr. Bradford was born on September 5, 1942, the son of Bascom and Willie Maude Griffin Bradford. He was a self-employed painter. Mr. Bradford was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
