Funeral services for Dean Sears Moody, age 78, of Woodland, will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tony Morris and Rev. Terry Eason officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, September 13, 2015. Mrs. Moody passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton. Survivors include her husband, Ray Moody of Woodland; one son, Danny Moody of Woodland; one grandson, Colton Moody; two sisters, Lucille Brown and Dola Edmondson, both of Woodland; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ken Eason, Scout Eason, Brandon Bates, Patrick Dudley, Keith Arrington, and Calvin Edmondson. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Moody was born on September 5, 1937, the daughter of Harvey and Vergie Yates Sears. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church and had been employed as a seamstress. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Sarah Edmondson, Doris Dalrymple, and Letha Mae Arrington; and one brother, H.J. Sears. Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to Memorial Fund, c/o Benefield Funeral Home, 17624 Hwy 431, Wedowee, AL 36278.
