Obituary of Michael Wade Haynes

Funeral services for Michael Wade “Mike” Haynes, age 63, of Ranburne, will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at 3:00 PM CST from Goldridge Baptist Church with Rev. T.J. Morgan, Jeff Stack, and Rev. Darryl Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home, Wedowee, AL, in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM CST on Tuesday, September 29, 2015. Mr. Haynes will lie in state one hour prior to services beginning on Wednesday. Mr. Haynes passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at his home. Survivors include his wife, Melba Gibbs Haynes of Ranburne, AL; one daughter, Megan Haynes of Ranburne, AL; one sister, Robin Hamlett (husband, Floyed) of Dill City, OK; and one brother, Bill Haynes of Granite City, IL. Pallbearers will be Nathan Smith, Austin Smith, Joseph Gibbs, Spencer Gibbs, Pete Bradbary, and Dalton Gibbs. A Madison County, Illinois native, Mr. Haynes was born on December 1, 1951, the son of Alfred and Ruth Gay Haynes. He was a retired criminal investigator for U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the NRA and the Fraternal Order of Police. Mr. Haynes worked for the Georgetown, SC Police Department and served ten years with the Carroll County Prison System.
