Obituary of Geneva K. Sutton

Funeral services for Geneva Key Sutton, age 80, of Talladega, formerly of Wedowee, will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Pinetucky Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Burson and Rev. Billy Wayne Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 18, 2015. Mrs. Sutton will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Thursday. Mrs. Sutton passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015, at Lineville Health and Rehabilitation. Survivors include: one son, Robert Edward Sutton Jr.; one grandchild, Dakota Sutton; three sisters, Glenda Milstead of Ashland, Evelyn Snyder of Childersburg, and Sandra Williams of Oxford; and one brother, Lawrence Key of Anniston. Pallbearers will be Wendell White, Jim Key, Chuck Milstead, Roger Key, Kyle Simons, and Paul Triplett. Honorary pallbearers will be Randall Key, Jimmy Triplett, Alton Triplett, Tim White, Steve Lipham, Jeff Sutton, and Mike Sutton. A Wedowee native, Mrs. Sutton was born on May 13, 1935, the daughter of Shellie and Lola Craven Key. She was a member of Pinetucky Baptist Church and worked as a seamstress for Higgins Slacks, Inc. Mrs. Sutton was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Edward Sutton, Sr.; one brother; and one sister.
