Obituary of William Richard Kirby

Funeral services for William Richard “Ricky” Kirby, age 60 of Roanoke will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tommy Burke officiating. Burial will follow at Green’s Chapel United Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, December 5, 2015. Mr. Kirby passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. Survivors include: two daughters, Sarah Jayne Kirby of Kansas City, MO, and Kaylin Stephens of Five Points, AL; three sons, William Scott Kirby and Reid Ryan Kirby, both of Kansas City, MO, and Clayton Richard Kirby of Newnan, GA; seven grandchildren; his mother, Frances B. Kirby of Roanoke; and one sister, Stacy R. Daniel of Douglasville, GA. A Chambers County, Alabama native, Mr. Kirby was born on June 7, 1955, the son of William Calvin and Frances Benefield Kirby. He was self-employed at the Bypass Shopette. Mr. Kirby was preceded in death by his father.
