Obituary of I.V. Sheats

Funeral service for I.V. Sheats, age 83, of Wedowee, will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Barry Cosper officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church in Newell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30-8:00 PM on Saturday, December 12, 2015. Mrs. Sheats passed away Friday, December 11, 2015, at her residence. Survivors include: two daughters, Ivy Nell Shelton of Carrollton, Ga, Carrie Holloway of Wedowee; two sons, Bobby Joil Sheats and Sephus Corell Sheats, both of Wedowee; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Lendle J. Williamson of Roanoke. Pallbearers will be Jason Sheats, Brandon Sheats, John Davis, Michael Waldrop, Bobby Bollen, and Thomas Walker. Honorary pallbearer will be Shane White. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Sheats was born on October 1, 1932, the daughter of William Leonard and Flossie Boggs Williamson. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and worked as a seamstress for Bremen-Bowdon Investment, Co. Mrs. Sheats was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Corell Sheats; one son, Ronnie Lynn Sheats; one granddaughter, Amy Lynn Sheats; five sisters; and four brothers.
