Funeral services for Jerrell Stevenson Barker, age 74, of Woodland will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at 2:00 PM from the Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Clayton Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Branch Baptist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 19, 2016.
Mr. Barker passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Wedowee Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Janice R. Barker; three sons, Jerry Barker of Anchorage, AK, David Barker of Borger, TX, and Terry Barker of Carrollton, GA; and one brother, Marvin Barker of Dearmanville, AL.
Pallbearers will be Zackary Barker, Marvin Barker, Payton Barker, Jerry Barker, David Barker, and Terry Barker.
A Wedowee native, Mr. Barker was born on March 8, 1941, the son of Mancel and Obera Cosper Barker. He was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church and was a self-employed carpenter. Mr. Barker was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Jeff and Tim Barker; and a sister, Okalene Dodson.
