Funeral services for Frank Campbell, age 76, of Woodland will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at 1:00 PM (Alabama Time) at Bethel East Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Runels, Bro. Brad Horton, Larry Strain, and Allan Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-8:00 PM on Friday, January 22, 2016. Mr. Campbell will lie in state at Bethel East Baptist for one hour beginning on Saturday.

Mr. Campbell passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Tanner Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Campbell of Woodland; two daughters, Sharon Easter (husband, Steve) of Woodland and Tanya Messer (husband, Joe) of Wedowee; one son, Donald Smith of Snellville, GA; four grandchildren, Thomas Kirby, Kendra Knowles, Molly Thomas, and Kristen Sims; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Kirby, Keith Knowles, Brody Thomas, Randy Jennings, Tracy Eason, and William Campbell, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Bethel East Baptist Church.

A Wedowee native, Mr. Campbell was born on June 3, 1939, the son of Tom and Cordie Parker Campbell. He was a member of Bethel East Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for more than 50 years and was a retired manager from Southwire. Mr. Campbell was the announcer for the Woodland Bobcats football games for 48 years, and he was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide and NASCAR fan. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carol Parmer Campbell; one daughter, Samantha Sims; three sisters; and two brothers.
