Nobia Mims Coats, age 79, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama.
Survivors include: one daughter, Cheryl A. Bovyn of Bolingbrook, IL; three sons, James Mims, III, of Woodland, Richard E. Mims of Bolingbrook, IL; and Richard K. Coats of Douglasville, GA; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Ballground, Georgia native, Mrs. Coats was born on June 4, 1937, the daughter of Payton and Jessie Mae Kennedy Haygood. She was Methodist by faith and owner of Coats Gun Shop. Mrs. Coats was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, L.L. Coats and James Mims, Jr.; one brother, George Haygood; and two sisters, Betty Coats and June Rivers.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
