Obituary of Maudine Cofield

Funeral services for Maudine M. Cofield, age 94, of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Dr. Steve Dempsey officiating. Burial will follow at Corinth Baptist Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 on Saturday, September 24, 2016. Mrs. Cofield passed away Monday, September 19, 2016, at Lineville Health and Rehabilitation. Survivors include: five children, Carolyn Heard (husband, James Robert) of Tampa, FL, Jerry Cofield (wife, Judy) of Knoxville, TN, Ronnie Cofield (wife, Sheila) of Anniston, AL, Mary Ellen Harbison of Delta, and Wyneise Holloway (husband, Larry) of Wedowee; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many more grand and great-grandchildren by marriage and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Keith Cofield and Christopher Harbison, grandsons; Nick McCain, great-grandson; Ricardo Viera, Tony Jolly, and Jamie Snow, grandsons by marriage. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Cofield was born on March 30, 1922, the daughter of Frank and Mary Gaston Morrison. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Cofield was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curtis Talmon Cofield; one son, Ricky Talmon Cofield; two grandsons, Steve Heard and Ricky Cofield, Jr.; six sisters; and four brothers.
