Graveside services for William Scott McKay, age 66, of Tyrone, Georgia, formerly of Roanoke, will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at 11:00 AM from Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Lynn McClain officiating and Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30-7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 31, 2017.
Mr. McKay passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017, at Southland Health and Rehab in Peachtree City, Georgia.
Survivors include: one daughter, Michelle Banks (husband, Tim) of Tyrone, Georgia, and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Scott Carter, Jim Sloan, David Heard, and Richard Halsey.
A Chambers County native, Mr. McKay was born on August 24, 1950, the son of Crawford Haynes and Gladys Sharp McKay. He was Baptist by faith and worked as a minister. Mr. McKay was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jean McKay.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
