Funeral services for Frances Elizabeth Highfield, age 89, of Wedowee will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ricky Daniel and Rev. David Little officiating. Burial will follow at Wedowee City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 15, 2017.
Mrs. Highfield passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Survivors include: one daughter, Darlene Wiggins of Graham; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Deacons of First Baptist Church of Wedowee.
A Clay County native, Mrs. Highfield was born on August 30, 1927, the daughter of John Winston and Luzanie McCollum Gabriel. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wedowee and was a self-employed florist. Mrs. Highfield was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde Highfield; two sisters; and five brothers.
