Obituary of Florence Pauline Mote

Graveside services for Florence Pauline Mote, age 89, of Woodland will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2017, at 2:00 PM from Providence Baptist Cemetery with Rev. David Daniel officiating and Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. Mrs. Mote passed away Monday, March 20, 2017, at Roanoke Health Care. Survivors include: one daughter, Diane Merrell of Roopville, GA; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be family and friends. A Pennsylvania native, Mrs. Mote was born on October 27, 1927, the daughter of Frank M. and Anna Mae Bookmyer Phillips. She was Catholic by faith and worked as a clerk for Piggly Wiggly. Mrs. Mote was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Rex Mote; and seven siblings. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to one’s favorite charity.
