Funeral services for Adell Breed Cofield, age 81, of Wedowee will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017, at 3:00 PM, from Union Baptist Church with Rev. Eugene Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30-8:00 PM on Thursday, April 13, 2017. Mrs. Cofield will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Friday.
Mrs. Cofield passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.
Survivors include: one daughter, Kathy Morrison of Cleburne County; one son, Jimmy L. Cofield (wife, Jennifer) of Wedowee; other children, Shelia Mitchell (husband, Johnny) of Hogansville, Ga, and Mike Kirklin of Roanoke; grandchildren, Nick Kimbrell, Miranda Lambert (husband, Dustin), and Amanda Harbin (husband, C.J.); one sister, Doris Cosper of Graham; and a host of nieces and nephews, great-grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Shane Cosper, Randy Cosper, Nick Kimbrell, Phil Stewart, Rodney Brown, Richard Craft, Billy Edwards, Donnie Brown, and Bill Cofield.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Cofield was born on January 8, 1936, the daughter of Jim and Bessie Vinson Breed. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Cofield was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy E. Cofield, Jr.; her twin sister, Maebell Breed; and one daughter, Patricia Ann Cofield Brown.
