Obituary of Geneva Louise Hill Patterson

Funeral services for Geneva Louise Hill Patterson, age 73, of Newell will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Morgan officiating.  Burial will follow at Harmony Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, August 13, 2017.

Mrs. Patterson passed away Friday, August 11, 2017, at her residence.

Survivors include: two daughter, Vickie Culver (husband, Danny) and Eva “Cricket” Baker (husband, Roger), both of Newell; two grandchildren, Austin Baker and Brianna Baker; four sisters, Everlene Meacham of Rochelle, IL, Norene Allen of Heflin, Jeanette Clifton of Woodland, and Jo Ann Daniel of Ranburne; and four brothers, Samuel Hill of Bowdon, GA, Joel Hill of Graham, Harold Hill of Newell, and Jeffery Hill of Bowdon, GA.

Pallbearers will be Danny Culver, Shannon Richardson, Malachi Hill, Tyler Hill, Jeff Hill, and Trey Puckett.  Honorary pallbearer will be Andrew Richardson.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Patterson was born on March 16, 1944, the daughter of John Thomas and Louise Patterson Hill.  She was Congregational Methodist by faith and worked as a seamstress at Bremen-Bowdon Investments.  Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, E. C. Patterson; two sisters, Ilene Gosdin and Mary Jane Buchanan; two brothers, Dallas and Travis Hill; and special friend, Larry S. Wilson.
