Obituary of Mary Sue Kirby

Funeral services for Mary Sue Kirby, age 90, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Nobbley officiating.  Burial will follow at White’s Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday before services begin.

Mrs. Kirby passed away Friday, September 1, 2017, at Traylor’s Retirement Center.

Survivors include: two sons, Bob Kirby and Bill Kirby, both of Roanoke; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Kirby’s grandsons.

A Wedowee native, Mrs. Kirby was born on December 17, 1926, the daughter of John Wyatt and Mary Jane Yates Bradley.  She was a member of White’s Chapel Methodist Church and worked in the cafeteria at RCHS.  Mrs. Kirby was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W. V. Kirby; granddaughter, Wendy Kirby; four sisters; and three brothers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to White’s Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
