Obituary of Jessie Rae Cobb

Funeral services for Jessie Rae “Jackie” Wallace Cobb, age 102, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bobby Burroughs officiating.  Burial will follow at Union Hill Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, September 9 before services begin.

Mrs. Cobb passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Roanoke Health Care.

Survivors include: one sister, Foy Saxon of Graham; and four brothers, Rex Wallace of Newell, Hilton Wallace of Roanoke; Wayne Wallace of Tuscaloosa, and Bob Wallace of Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Cobb’s nephews.

A long-time Roanoke resident, Mrs. Cobb was born in Clay County on December 20, 1914, the daughter of Robert Milford and Lola Ophelia McKay Wallace.  She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church and was a homemaker.  Mrs. Cobb was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lark C. Cobb; one son, Robert Cobb; six sisters; and one brother.
