Obituary of Joy Lynn Garner

Funeral services for Joy Lynn Garner, age 62, of Woodland will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at 1:00 PM at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Norred and Rev. Terry Eason officiating..  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 1, 2017.

Mrs. Garner passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia.

Survivors include her husband, John Garner of Woodland; two daughters, Kelly Rudy (husband, Lawrence) of Temple, GA, and Randi Pike (husband, Richard) of Woodland; one son, Kyle Russell Gibson of Montgomery; stepson, Jeremy Molden (wife, Kristy) of Coldwater; her mother, Nancy Binion of Woodland; 11 grandchildren; and one brother, Stewart Binion of Gilbert, LA.

Pallbearers will be Richard Pike, Parker Woodham, Jeremy Woodham, Parker Molden, Lawson Molden, and Sonny Edwards.

A Louisiana native, Mrs. Garner was born on February 24, 1955, the daughter of Ocie Lee Thompson and Nancy Stewart Binion.  She was a retired truck driver for J. M. Bozeman.  Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her father; brother, Jimmy Lee Thompson; and two stepsons, Scott Garner and John Garner, Jr.
